The Art Nouveau double door is fully functional, it opens and closes on its hinges, and when closed, it serves as a dust-proof protective cover for the entire scene. The pull-out design means it can be removed entirely for full display or held in place to protect every miniature detail from dust accumulation over time.

The door itself is a work of art: carved dark red wood panels with flowing Art Nouveau scrollwork, oval cutouts with decorative fretting, and a fleur-de-lis motif on the lower panels. Whether open or closed, it contributes to the visual language of the piece.
