"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit."
A grass-covered hill with a brick chimney rising from its crown. A round green door with a brass bell just like the one Gandalf knocked on that morning. A stone-and-wood garden gate with a "Welcome" sign hanging above it. Colorful flowers lining the front path yellow, pink, purple, orange. Butterflies in the garden. And through the round door, glowing warm and amber: a proper hobbit hole interior — the stone hearth with a real fire, the round kitchen window, the table with an open book and gold scissors, the shelf of teapots and ceramic jugs, the cast iron stove with carrots waiting to be cooked, the clock, the candles.
This is Bag End, Underhill, Hobbiton, the Shire. The most comfortable address in all of Middle-Earth.
There's no place like home. Especially when home has a round door.

Welcome to Bag End
Bilbo Baggins lived at Bag End, Underhill, Hobbiton, in the West Farthing of the Shire. It was, by all accounts, the finest hobbit hole in the neighborhood with its round green door, its well-stocked pantry, its comfortable armchairs, and its reputation for never doing anything unexpected.
Until it did.
The Shire that J.R.R. Tolkien created the rolling green hills, the round doors set into hillsides, the vegetable gardens and flower borders, the general conviction that second breakfast is an institution rather than an indulgence is one of the most beloved fictional landscapes in literature. It is comfort and safety and the knowledge that, even if you go there and back again, the kettle will be on when you return.
This book nook is that place in miniature. Built with the particular attention to comfort and domestic detail that hobbits themselves would approve of.
Every Corner of Bag End, In Miniature
The Hobbit Book Nook is built on an oval base reflecting the organic, non-rectangular shapes that define hobbit architecture and reveals itself in four distinct zones, each as detailed and as lovingly realized as the last:
- The Round Door — The Most Famous Door in Literature: The circular green door with its brick arch is the first thing you see and the thing you come back to. The round door is not just an architectural quirk it is a statement of philosophy. Hobbits build round because nature is round. Because comfort has curves. Because right angles are for people who haven't thought carefully enough about how a door should feel to walk through.
- he Garden — The Shire at Its Most Itself: The front garden of Bag End is everything the Shire stands for: orderly without being formal, abundant without being excessive, and populated by things that bloom because they want to rather than because someone insisted.
- The Hearth — Where Hobbit Life Happens: Visible through the round door, the stone fireplace with a glowing fire is the heart of Bag End the LED system produces a warm, flickering orange light that illuminates the entire interior and makes the whole hillside glow from within. In Tolkien's Shire, the hearth is where stories are told, where meals are planned, where the pipe-weed is smoked and the maps are unfolded. This hearth has witnessed both, many times.
