The Eye of Old God Book Nook — Build the Research Base Where Humanity Made Its Last Mistake
Somewhere under the surface of Mars, a team of researchers found something that was never meant to be found. The creature they captured had eyes older than the solar system. They named it Experiment 001. They were not prepared for what came next.
There's an alien research base on your shelf. The monster inside it moves.
The Eye of Old God isn't a fantasy book nook. It's not dark academia or a cozy witch's library. It's something entirely different in the book nook catalog a science fiction horror scene set inside a subterranean Martian research facility called Harmankas Base, where humanity's first contact with extraterrestrial life went exactly as catastrophically as you'd expect.
224 pieces. A two-level research installation with control panels, data terminals, test benches, and a staircase that moves. A giant-eyed monster with tentacles and it moves too. LED lighting that turns the whole scene cold and clinical. A dust cover included. And a story that earns its place in the cosmic horror tradition.

The Story Behind the Scene
Researchers under Mars discover a creature with the legendary bloodline of the Old Dominion. A bright light fills the cave. The monster massive, tentacled, its eye reflecting something that predates human consciousness is captured and transferred to Harmankas Base for study.
Experiment 001.
The base will be dragged into an endless abyss by an ancient mysterious force. Because of humanity's arrogance. Because of its ignorance. Because inquisitiveness, for all its virtues, has never once considered the possibility that some things are better left in the dark.
This is the lore. The book nook builds the base where it happened.
What You're Building, Level by Level ?
Two floors. One creature. A scene that looks like a disaster frozen mid-frame.
The Cover Panel: the classified file. The left panel is a UV-printed illustrated cover deep space tones, the silhouette of the creature visible through atmospheric haze, the kind of image that appears on declassified documents that were never meant to be declassified. It tells you what you're looking at before you open the nook.
Ground Level: the containment zone. The base floor is a detailed research installation tiled floor in a cold geometric pattern, equipment scattered in the controlled disarray of people who were working very quickly on something very urgent. A test bench with research materials. Data recording terminals. The kind of infrastructure that took years to build and that became irrelevant the moment Experiment 001 opened its eye.
The Control Panel A full instrument panel runs along one wall switches, readouts, the visual language of a facility designed to contain something that had never been contained before. It's the part of the build that feels most like a real place the specific, unglamorous infrastructure of scientific work pushed past its limits.
The Staircase, it moves. The staircase connecting the two levels is articulated it can be repositioned. It's a small mechanical detail that gives the book nook a physical interactivity that most kits don't have. The stairs were built for humans. Whether they're going up or coming down is left to the builder to decide.
Upper Level: the observation deck. The second level is where the creature is held or was held. The giant eye dominates the upper interior, its scale relative to the surrounding infrastructure making clear that whoever designed Harmankas Base was not expecting to house something this large. Research notes. Monitoring equipment. The creature.
Experiment 001 — it moves too. The monster is not a static element. The tentacled figure with its ancient eye is articulated it can be repositioned within the scene. A book nook where the central element can be moved is already unusual. A book nook where the central element is a cosmic horror creature with a moveable eye and tentacles is something else entirely.
The LED System Cold clinical light fills the interior the specific quality of fluorescent institutional lighting that makes everything look slightly more serious than it should. At night, the base glows. The eye catches the light. The shadows behind the equipment suggest things that aren't in the instruction manual.
The Dust Cover A fitted dust cover is included in the box no separate purchase required. At this level of detail and this price point, that matters.
